Mission Statement

The mission of the Westborough Historical Society is to serve the community by preserving and sharing our local history. 

Our Vision is to:

  • Maintain a collection of historic local artifacts and documents that connect Westborough's present to its past;
  • Provide monthly accessible, engaging and content-rich programs;
  • Partner with local organizations to enhance historical perspectives and build community pride;
  • Use our resources to inspire local students and foster their historical understanding; and
  • Promote interest in Westborough by sharing historical stories that are unique to our town.

“Johnny Tremain Community Readathon"

The Westborough Historical Society is excited to offer its first community readathon of Johnny Tremain by Westborough Pulitzer Prize winning author Esther Forbes. Johnny Tremain, a teenage Boston boy, and his participation in the Revolutionary War makes a fast paced fun read.

It will be broadcast live on Westborough TV from the Westborough Town Hall's second floor Memorial Hall. Each participant will receive an email with additional details. Seating in the Memorial Hall will be available for readers and listeners.

Each reader will select a time slot, read for 15 minutes and will pickup the story where the previous reader finished.
